Since 1936 we have brought together people from different professions who, through humanity, professionalism and fellowship, contribute to the development of the local community and the spread of the Rotary idea in Serbia and the world.
Nine decades of service to the community
Rotary Club “Niš” Niš was founded on 3 June 1936, and Dr. Dragutin Petković, a respected Niš physician and one of the most prominent citizens of his time, was elected its first president. After its work was interrupted during the Second World War, followed by a pause of several decades, the club resumed its activities in 1995, and the formal charter ceremony was held on 2 March 1996. The first president of the renewed club was Prof. Dr. Vojislav Mitić, who played a key role in bringing the Rotary idea back to Niš and Serbia.
Today the Rotary Club of Niš continues to bring together people devoted to the ideal of “Service Above Self”.

Medical equipment for the Clinical Center Niš, KBC Kosovska Mitrovica and the clinics of Niš – from “All For Her” to a troponin analyzer.
Humanitarian aid
Help for the socially vulnerable and for families affected by the wildfires in the Toplica region, with the support of the whole of District 2483.
Environment
Planting Serbian spruce trees and caring for nature as an investment in the future of the city and the region.
Youth and Rotaract
The Rotaract Club of Niš, founded in 1997 and re-established in 2024, brings together young people aged 18 to 30.
International cooperation
Twinnings with clubs from Bulgaria and North Macedonia and the support of friends from all over the world.
Lectures
Expert lectures and guest appearances by prominent figures from medicine, science, culture and sport.
Latest projects
Aid for Those Affected by the Wildfires in the Toplica Region
During the 2025/2026 Rotary year, the Rotary Club of Niš led a major district-wide humanitarian campaign to help the population affected by the wildfires in the Toplica region. The project was carried out with the support of all Rotary clubs in District 2483, while the Rotary Club of Niš coordinated the activities and delivered aid on the ground.

Charity Concert
The Rotary Club of Niš organized a charity concert at Pivnica Berta to raise funds for the purchase of a video laryngoscope for the Clinic for Maxillofacial Surgery.

Rotaract is an international network of young people who, through volunteering, professional development, education and fellowship, work to create positive change in their communities.
Our Rotaract club has seen more than 300 young people pass through its ranks. Re-established in 2024, the club continues a tradition of almost three decades.
